Hi! My name is Brittany. Welcome to my little blog. I am a 23 year old mom, military wife, & optimist. My husband is Justin, and he is in the USCG. We have the sweetest baby boy named Grayson. I enjoy the finer things in life.. such as a $6 bottle of wine and bad reality T.V. Quite frankly, life is good.

14 weeks.

    Dear little one,

This is my first letter to you. I hope I find the time to make it the first of many. I can only imagine you being older, and reading back on these letters from your mama. The thought of that alone made me decide to want to try this out. So here goes nothin'!

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with you. That is extremely exciting! I am in my second trimester, and people consider this to be out of the riskiest zone of pregnancy. I am so thankful to have made it this far with you, and just can't wait for all the months to come! Anyway, this week you are the size of a lemon!!! A LEMON! That's huge! I know it may not seem like it, but you are getting so big. Did you know that you started out the sized of a poppy seed? When you think about it that way, you truly are growing so fast my little lemon. Also, this week, you've began to work on your facial expressions, and sucking your thumb. You've also began to pee. I know, kind of gross, but still a mile marker in your growth. So, pee like a champ, baby! You've also developed a layer of peach fuzz-ish hair called "lanugo", to protect your skin and stuff. You're my fuzzy, peeing, thumb sucking, little lemon. And you are awesome.

You're swimming around in there. Dancing and punching and kicking, even though I can't feel it yet. Your Dad and I witnessed it first hand this past week. We had our very first doctor's appointment and ultrasound with you. We saw you. We saw you wiggling, and dancing. Movin', and groovin'. We saw your precious heart beating. We heard the magical "thump, thump, thump" of a healthy heart. That was absolutely one of the very happiest moments of my life thus far. The feeling of seeing you on that screen was completely surreal. You should've seen your dad's face. He was smiling ear to ear. There you were, our baby. In that moment, we were your Mommy & Daddy. In that moment, I laid eyes on the most miraculous thing I have ever seen. We made you. & I think I speak for both of us when I say, that moment took our breaths away.

We love you so much already, little one.

Love always,
Your Mama.
